Energel 0.70mm Ink Refill

The Pentel Energel 0.7 mm refill is one of the most popular refill formats in the machined pen community, widely favored by writing enthusiasts for its consistency and feel. Known for its silky smooth ink flow, it delivers a clean, bold line with excellent control.

For our team, this refill was the starting point. It’s our personal favorite, and it ultimately inspired us to get into mechanical pen design. We noticed that very few pens were truly designed around the Energel format, despite how well it performs. That gap is what led us to down the path of designing our first pen, Drift. 

The gel ink writes effortlessly with very low resistance, making long writing sessions comfortable and fatigue-free. It lays down a rich, saturated line without being overly wet, striking a balance between smoothness and precision. 

The 0.7 mm tip provides a versatile medium line that works well for everyday writing, note-taking, and general use. We offer this refill in both the standard metal tip as well as a finer needle tip variant for those who prefer it.
